AD101 Drawing 1
The course objective is to develop the visual creativity of students. A specific course objective is to develop various shapes of skills of artistic expression. Students are introduced to basic elements of the process of drawing techniques and application of techniqes, as well as basic elements of the drawing process.
Students acquire drawings as a foundation of art creation, starting from study observation and linear marking of geometric shapes to drawing of human figures. Students can apply the acquired knowledge and skills in their art work in creating individual solutions.
AD120 Type
The aim of this course program is focused on students acquiring knowledge and comprehending the historical development of the letters, starting with the appearance of the alphabet to the modern trends in design fonts. Thanks to this course the student should be well acquainted with the forerunners of the letters, the occurrence of different letters, classification and characteristics of the modern letters (fonts) as well as methods for their design and construction.
The student has mastered the basics of calligraphy skills and is able to perform freehand calligraphic letters by using appropriate materials and calligraphy tools. They are able to use calligraphic skills in order to write diplomas or charters. Student knows the characteristics of the Latin and Cyrillic alphabets, and this knowledge is applied in a standalone font project which is implemented using the computer software Font Lab Font Studio 5. Fonts can be installed on their computers and applied on all design projects. After the implementation in adequate digital format (TTF) the font remains the property of the student.
АD108 History of Design
During the course of history of design, students acquire knowledge about the basic functions and the forms of visual communication from the earliest, original form to the main objectives and representatives of graphic design of the postmodern era. The aim is to introduce the basic concepts and starting points in the history of graphic design from the earliest forms of visual communication, such as pictograms, hieroglyphics, calligraphy, and medieval illuminations, through the invention of printing, various forms of typography to photography, post-modern design and contemporary design studios.
Students are trained to comprehend how a network of ideas can inform the meanings of artworks and locate them in critical narratives and significant histories. During the course the students develop knowledge of different conceptual frameworks, visual form, the starting point and direction of graphic design. The curriculum of this course forms a basic theoretical educational platform for future designers.
AD110 Fundamentals of Graphic design
This course directs students to understand the concept of visual elements and materials.The aim of the course is to prepare students for the adoption, integration, interpretation and application of contemporary importance of the language, the media and semiotics to visual culture. The student is profiled to understand the importance of the language, the media and the arts in the process of creation and analysis of visual material. An important aspect of the course is to study the program Adobe Photoshop.
The ability to understand the basics of visual communication, as well as the practice of application of the same. Students acquire knowledge from different perspectives of visual theory. Student is able to analyze visual content and places critical thinking.
NT111 English I
English 1 is an intermediate general English course. The course objective is to develop competences in the areas of grammar and vocabulary, as well as develop and practice the language skills of reading, listening, speaking, writing, translating and integration of all the skills.
Students are enabled to communicate in speaking in writing in English in real life situations, to comprehend texts adapted at intermediate level on topics from everyday life, as well as longer texts from newspapers and popular literature adapted at intermediate level, to take notes and write summaries of short texts, to write informal and formal letters to translate short professional texts from English to Serbian, as well as to combine various skills in everyday situations.
AD102 Drawing 2
The course objective is to develop the visual creativity of students and to nurish their visual perception. Students are introduced to the anatomy of the human body. Students realize drawings of figure and act with classical drawing techniques.
Students know how to draw a human figure with the application of classical and modern approaches to realization. By using modern and classical drawing material and techniques, with the previously developed sketches, they can present various textures, as well as interior where the given figure is placed. They apply the acquired knowledge and skills in their future art work.
AD125 Typography
The aim of the course is to acquire knowledge about the basics of typographic design both on traditional graphic forms such as printing surfaces and digital interactive media. The student is trained by using appropriate computer software, to design typographic solutions and to apply the acquired knowledge in the fields of graphic design (advertisement, poster, page layout and photography, visual identity, web design …).

Some tasks provide opportunities for realization in a number of ways: in the form of static or printed graphic images or as moving – animated pictures. All student assignments implement the use of appropriate design software such as Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.
AD161 Techniques and Processes of Graphic Design
Developing creative and technical skills in creating different visual performances that are essential in graphic communications. Research-art graphics and application in different graphic solutions and visual performances. The analysis of the principles of composition art-graphic elements which serve as the basis for all visual communication. Researching the survey form that can be created from paper or cardboard as the base material in graphic design. Developing creativity through research randomly generated forms and the search for meaningful visual performance. Creating visual performance using certain digital tools.
Student acquire knowledge and skills to independently create and implement graphic design elements, they are educated on the visual elements and principles of composition that is applied in relation to a specific purpose. Students will learn to:
- create and implement all the elements of graphic design (dot, line, form, valor, color, texture, space)
- creatively, visually and technically solve specific problems using the principles of composition (balance, harmony, contrast, rhythm and proportions)
- self-create, apply and coordinate graphic design elements in visual representations that can be applied to a variety of graphics solutions
- identify, analyze and express creative thinking in its conceptual process
- construct and technically prepare different conceptual designs of paper or paperboard preparation files for printing
АD111 Ancient and Medieval Art
Students learn about the emergence, development and streams of art ranging from 500 BC to 1500 on the European geographical area. The works of art and visual culture are seen in the various stages of the formation in its ideological, social and cultural context. Special attention is paid to various forms of visual culture and visual identity that marked the ancient, Greek, Roman and Hellenic art and medieval culture as the Byzantine East and the countries of the Byzantine cultural circle and Western Europe, starting with the culture of the Carolingian and Romanesque art and architecture to late Gothic in Italy.
Students have insight in a wide time, ideological, social and cultural ancient Greek, Roman, Hellenic and Medieval art. This course provides students with skills to comprehend different principles and key phenomenon of ancient civilization and visual culture of Medieval period.

Students know the foundations of human anatomy, they have a developed individuality in art approach, they acquire space and proportion and apply knowledge in anatomy. They use art elements in creation of graphic-creative solution with an object of human figures as a dominant visual content and transmitter of a message.
AD325 Corporate Identity
The aim of the course is to acquire knowledge about the basics of conceptual and graphic design of corporate identity. The program of this course includes an overview of the historical development of corporate identity, introduction to terminology, methods and principles of graphic design in this area and examples of different approaches to artistic and graphic solutions. The student is gradually introduced to the field of corporate identity, starting from the basics such as symbols, signs and pictograms through design-trademark logo, elements of business communication (securities), to the creation of promotional material for the presentation of the corporation on the market and labeling of advertising business premises of company. At the end of the course student is able to design and realize the Book of graphic standards on his own.
Acquired competencies in the design and implementation of graphic, corporate identity of a company or corporation. Through logo design student develops the capacity for abstract thinking, verbal visual representation of the content and forms of stylization. Acquire knowledge for its own graphic design of business stationary and promotional materials by applying and combining typographic elements (letter and text, photo and illustration, lines). Solves the problems set by considering more aspects of the project and the possibility of its realization. In addition to developing creative thinking, means the ability of the individual and the development of cooperation in the activities and projects within a team. All exercises, homework and projects include the preparation in the form of research and making sketches in consultation with the lecturer, while the implementation is realized using appropriate design software (Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, In Design).
AD211 Graphic Design 1
Developing creative and technical skills in creating different visual messages to specific audiences. Developing creative thinking in the creation of visual communications solutions. Researching options and selection of visual elements and their usage in relation to a given theme and message that should be sent to specific audiences. Analysis of the ways of visual composition of elements and selection of certain art-graphic elements and principles of composition in relation to the exact preset themes. Developing critical thinking in relation to the rules and policy violations in graphic design and giving ideas for solving certain graphical problems. Developing creativity and personal visual handwriting graphics solutions for specific audience in relation to a given issue. Analysis of graphics solutions from different fields and researching media through which a visual message is sent.

NT215 English 3 for Design
English 3 for Design is an upper intermediate ESP course. The course objective is to consolidate the use of grammar at upper intermediate level, to expand the general and specifically the professional vocabulary and to practice the usage in various language functions, as well as to improve and integrate all the language skills (reading, writing, listening and speaking).
Students are enabled to communicate in English in professional situations, both in writing, as well as orally, to comprehend professional texts and various texts adapted at upper intermediate level, to write informal and professional letters and emails, a biography and short professional informative texts, to translate short professional texts from English to Serbian, as well as to combine various skills in real-life situations.
AD311 Graphic Design 2
This course allows students to work on specific, real projects to test their knowledge, gain new experience and build self-confidence, which helps to define themselves as an artist / designer. Within this course, students are enabled to give visual form of print media content using the previously acquired knowledge and the use of new means of creative maturation and spotting new art form.
Using geometric and free form of elements of typographical and other potential programs and utilities students find a personal touch and give a personal and authentic form of graphic communication through posters, books, and other areas of the print media. The emphasis is put on experimentation.
The student is involved in several real projects and creates authentic solutions, integrated in the design world outside the academy. The student is expected to work individually as well as in groups. Students note, record and build a creative recognizable world of visual communication which is measured by the quality, recognition and professional relationship with a given exercise and attitude towards the employer. Practical outcome of the course is a portfolio that promotes and encourages students to professionally present their creative potential.
AD240 Visual identity
The aim of the course is to acquire knowledge about the basics of conceptual and graphic design widely covered by the corporate identity. The program of this course includes an overview of the most important segments of visual identity and the manner of its placement in the media. The student is gradually introduced in the field of visual identity starting from the design trademark, to the creation of promotional material for the presentation of company on the market.

АD112 Early Modern Art
Students gain knowledge about the origin, development and streams of European art and visual culture of the new age, as well as the most important phenomena in the Serbian art of this period. Students are assigned, in accordance with the modern methodological view, to research the function and meaning of works of art within the conceptual, theoretical, social, religious, and political context.
Within the series of lectures, students learn about the cultural and historical framework in which various phenomena and artistic trends of European culture of Early Modern Age occur.
Students acquire basic knowledge about the function of visual culture of the Modern Age, in the Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo, Realism, Romanticism and Symbolism. They comprehend different artistic languages and practices of design in the framework of the 15th -19th Culture.
AD115 Visual Culture
Development of creative thinking, nurturing of visual perception, debt of possibilities of real seeing and seeing of misperception in the domain of natural forms, forms in everyday life and form in art. Teaching archetypes as carriers of meaning of visual form with the symbolic meaning in cultural and anthropological domain necessary to comprehend modern visual signs.
Students are enabled to think critically, to understand archetypes meaning in visual presentation of shapes, occasions, conditions and events in nature, everyday life and art. The course outcome is enabling students to understand ways and possibilities of communication of visual form, understanding and comprehension of the sense of shapes, occasions, states and events outside the fact they are recognized and registered.

Enabling students to work individually on illustrations. Comparative analysis of historical events and technical conditions of illustrations. Introduction to techniques and material, basic composition and style rules, application of contents in adequate manner and adaptation to the audience. Use of illustration in all types and forms without limitation of printing form (graphics of books, brochures, posters, catalogues, magazines, bags, packages…)

Comprehension and application of certain art elements with the purpose to fill the visual quality and influence a specific relation of the creator in the creation of illustrated form. Introducing web concepts and characteristics of the web design, visual elements of communication in web environment, and web technologies. In practical work, students learn basic techniques in production of web presentations through coding and scripting, code optimisation and web graphics.
Students are able to create conceptual and structural visual identity in web environment, with technical knowledge to build and publish functional interactive web presentations.

Developing creative and technical skills to create, organize and plan artistic values in graphic design publications. Defining the different approaches in the design of network systems on the layout pages for different types of publications. Developing skills to create a network system for certain publications (catalog, brochures and menus). Definition and analysis of typeface design and form of publications. In the frame of the course Modern and Contemporary Art, students acquire knowledge about the origins and flow of modern painting and sculpture. The aim is to introduce them to the history of modern and contemporary visual culture and master the necessary methodological prerequisites for understanding its concepts. This course provide guidelines about how to understand and appreciate Modern Art better and how to discover continuity between the art of earlier periods and our own.
Students are trained to comprehend the concepts, conceptual framework, as well as different languages of images of modern and contemporary art. Students gain basic theoretical knowledge about the function of the visual culture of modern and contemporary art, but also the application of different artistic languages and practices of graphic design within the framework of modern society.
AD322 Publication Design 2
Developing creative and technical skills to create, organize and plan artistic values in graphic design publications. Defining the external and internal parts of the book as well as the front, middle and final parts of the book. The development of creative thinking in design books and art-graphic design and book cover design and fractures of inside pages. Defining visual and graphic elements of daily press and newspapers. Definition of visual and graphic elements in the design of the magazine and analyze ways of creative solutions for magazines and journals. Developing perception of spatial thinking, creative design and artistic graphic solutions of three-dimensional shapes. Encouraging skills for independent creative and technical solving specific tasks in the field of packaging. Study of different forms and materials in packaging design. Researching and addressing the problem of crossing the two-dimensional forms in three-dimensional form. Encouraging and motivating creative thinking in the context of concrete issues. Developing the ability to create, implement and harmonize the visual elements on a two-dimensional and three-dimensional form of packaging. Developing skills of constructing. Unfolding the package, making mock-ups of paper or cardboard and creating digital models of the package. Development of technical skills and process from preparing files for printing to the production of the packaging.

AD355 3D Modeling (3ds Max)
“3D Modeling” explores the concept of computer generated images and the elements that constitute computer graphics. Students learn various modeling techniques in order to create objects and scenes in three dimensions. This image generation process, as the product of computer graphics, allows the student a multidisciplinary understanding of contemporary digital images. Students adopt and use technical principles of natural sciences and learn to compose digital images on the basis of artistic cultural heritage.
AD170 Digital Communications
This course introduces students to the basic principles of digital communication in the new media environment. The areas covered in the course are: interactive film, mashinima, found footage film, moving comic books, VJ – video jockeing, animated infographics, music videos, and viral video form. The aim of the course is to provide students with a picture of the latest trends of development of user-friendly methods of communication in the digital environment.
Students can independently make Web videos or interactive forms using available resources such as mobile phones, Web cameras, go pro cameras, interactive contents of the device using a variety of creative tools. Become familiar with the terminology and aesthetic principles Digital form of communication, as well as authors for which this form of digital communication is known. Student is capable of analytical approaches, conceptually and strategically developing different models of communication in the new media environment. The student is also prepared for management and technical improvement internet marketing campaigns in terms of visual and technical.
AD312 Package Design 2
Research and analysis of different approaches and ideas in packaging design for a series of products. Encouraging skills for independent creative and technical solution of a series of packages in relation to the given issue. Research, analysis and creating concepts for a series of packaging solutions. Research of innovative forms and materials in the design of a series of packages. Development of independent creative thinking in the context of issues. Fostering organizational ability to perform a series of packages from the sketch faze to the final solution. Developing the ability to create, implement and harmonize the visual elements on a two-dimensional and three-dimensional form of packaging. Developing skills for constructing packaging solutions for a series of products, producing models of paper or paperboard and manufacturing digital mock-ups of the packages. Development of technical skills from preparing files for printing to the production of packaging. Design, creation and execution of promotional material in placing new products (posters, ads and brochures).
Students acquire knowledge and skills to independently create, coordinate and implement graphic design values and functional aspects of packaging in whole or packaging design. The student can:
- devise a solution concept for a series of packages (visual identity, packaging design, structural design graphic packaging solutions)
- structure a proper form, shape and packaging material in relation to the specific purpose
- create innovative forms of packaging and graphics solutions
- own terms and apply creative thinking in its conceptual process
- creatively, visually and technically solve and specify the problem in relation to the true specific guidelines
- independently create, implement and coordinate visual and graphic elements on the folding packaging solutions based on the concept

AD372 Compositing for Graphic Design (3ds Max)
Teaching students to create a completely new, visually compelling work with a high level of realism. Students will learn the physical properties of lights, materials and cameras so that they may combine real and virtual in order for the final image to look realistic. Once they master how to make their own 3D models in the 3d modeling course, students here learn how to properly set up, illuminate and apply materials to their 3d models in order to make them fit seamlessly with the real photos.
Students gain knowledge and skills to create photorealistic looking images while combining the 3d models and real-world photos. The result of this work is a new generated, authentic image that seems realistic and convincing on its own. Students will learn about the physical nature of lights, materials and cameras to better composite live and 3D computer generated images.
AD415 Theory of Visual Culture
The course objective is search and promotion of shapes of visibility through the history of the human civilization and culture. The course provides insight into the importance of make believe seeing and nurturing the culture of visibility through history, from first shapes of visibility of mythical seeing to the virtuallity of the modern screen.
The course, as a higher degree to analyzing possibilities of visual cognitions, enables students to follow independent research and cognition in the area of visible, as an area of up most importance for nurturing culture of seeing and creative visual thinking, as well as visual expression and art creation. Students are enabled, on the basis of deep theoretical knowledge, as well as experience gained in their application in individual research, to unite knowledge and experience of possibilities of interpretation and creation of visual forms, to perceive the possibilities of deep meaning from the point of view of non-visual areas – anthropology, mythology, religion, poetry and music and thus reach a much deeper level of expression in their works.
AD340 Digital illustration
This course allows students to work on specific, real projects to test their knowledge, gain new experience and build self-confidence, which helps to define themselves as an artist / designer. Preceded by the introduction of students to the world of illustrations (AD260), this course allows them to interpret the process of making illustrations on the next level which involves making illustrations in an appropriate computerized program, knowledge of the tools andfinding a specific visual handwriting in digital form.
The student is involved in several real projects and creates authentic solutions, integrated in the design world outside the academy. The student is expected to work individually as well as in groups. Practical outcome of the course is a portfolio that promotes students.
AD411 Graphic Design 3
Analysis of contemporary courses in art. The course offers interdisciplinary experience equally important for creating art as well as for critical thinking and its applicability through further artistic-designer practice. The course also covers research of relevant graphic artists who combine video, digital media, photography, literature etc. The course objective is observation of consequences of this transformations on contemporary art and creativity in general.
The course provides students with knowledge about contemporary discourses in art. By thinking and discussing about this topics, students begin to be included in contemporary streams in art, and create artworks relevant to the time they are created in.
AD385 Portfolio (DLS)
In preparation for job interviews, graphic designing for print and a digital portfolio is completed in this course. Working individually with the teacher, each student will select representative areas for discussion and improved materials. The emphasis will be on presenting unique styles and demonstrations of conceptual abilities and technical skills to meet the demands of undergraduate studies in the graphic design program. The aim of these lectures is to enable students to work on the market in the context of all the norms and requirements that are directed to him, whether from clients or themselves in market value.
The outcome of this course is the ability to present one’s work in the field of expertise, the students work during the 4 years of primary studies, preparing it to be published and presented to clients and the public. Competency of the student to know how to recognize and extract the most successful work that they have to present to the client, meaning it meets the requirements of the market and todays trends. Students are taught skills from designing the portfolio, the aesthetic appearance, to presenting their concepts and ideas, and how to most successfuly present their work to the public.
AD165 Introduction to Animation
This course introduces general and essential characteristics of animation as a medium in today’s digital content. Students are enabled to identify the technological and perceptual differences of animation and other genres of moving images. Students learn about video editing programs such as Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects as well as the specifics of video formats through creative tasks. By exploring techniques and computer stop trick animation students are prepared to work on tasks in the creative industry such as making commercials, music videos and short video forms. Students gain knowledge about compositing image and they can independently record and compose more video content, while learning the basics of audio video film editing and special effects.
Students are enabled to independently create short video form, combine video and audio content, add special effects film in order to produce commercials, music videos, and prepare for cases where the expertise in the field of processing and editing video is necessary. Through various creative and technical exercises, students acquire knowledge and skills needed for independent recording and editing of video material, get acquainted with the programs for video processing and can produce video in a standardized video formats.
IT340 Design and Development of the Web Applications
This course is introducing project oriented approach in order to introduce students to web design trends and integrated interactive solutions. Students learn about valid business models but they are also stimulated to experiment and make creative web solutions using hyper text and interactive multimedia
Students are able to design and produce creative solutions for data visualisation using valid web technologies. They specialise in making interactive web video, animation and web games by using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript technologies.
AD156 Motion Graphics
The course objective is to theoretically and practically educate students to design and create Motion Graphics sequences, combining animation, video, typography and sound.
After passing the exam, students possess practical skills and theoretical knowledge needed for designing and creating animated sequences for purposes of television, film, web and other media which involve the use of Motion Graphics.
AD352 Web Design 2
This course is introducing dynamic web environment to students, with basic PhP, XML, JavaScript and MySQL ,working on WordPress platform.Students are able to create and publish dynamic web presentations meeting web standards and users’ requirements.
Students work on two practical projects creating responsive web site that is displayed on desktop and mobile devices, they design and implement WordPress theme using HTML, CSS, MySQL, PhP and JavaScript.
